Staffing Structure

• Day Shift:
  • 1 Manager
  • 1 Clinical Coordinator or Charge Nurse
  • 4 Registered Nurses (RNs)
  • 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
  • 1 Unit Secretary
• Night Shift:
  • 1 Clinical Coordinator or Charge Nurse
  • 4 Registered Nurses (RNs)
  • 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
  • 1 Unit Secretary (until 11 PM)

Equipment

Standard Nursing Equipment, BiPAP (Stable), Mid/Flow, PD, Heparin Gtts, Phillips Cardiac Monitors

Electronic Medical Records

Meditech 6.0

Hiring Profile

Required Skills

• Willingness to work weekends as assigned
• Ability to handle high patient turnover with admissions and discharges
• No history of attendance concerns

Preferred Qualifications

• Positive, outgoing attitude
• Good understanding of HCAHP importance

Typical Procedures

Primarily care for cardiac-pulmonary patients but can accommodate general medical patients. Ability to monitor all cardiac needs; arrhythmias are generally not treated. Stable COVID-19 patients accepted.

Required Certifications

• BLS Certification (ACLS is NOT required)

Floating Areas

Any similar level of care (med-surg) or potentially stepdown with a med-surg assignment.

Dress Code

Navy Scrubs; any closed-toe and heeled shoes are acceptable.

Schedule

Every other weekend and major holidays. No on-call required.

Leadership and Team Environment

Visible leadership from Director, Manager, and Clinical Coordinators on all shifts, with great off-shift support from Nursing Supervisors. Collaborative work environment with strong relationships among staff and physicians, along with excellent support from PCT/CNA/Nurse Externs across all shifts.
