Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Infectious Disease

Position Overview

Join a dedicated team in a 12-hour night shift role focusing on MedSurg and Infectious Disease services. This position involves caring for patients with various infectious diseases, including COVID-19, MRSA, and C-Diff.

Unit Details

• Unit: 1E - MedSurg/Infectious Disease
• Number of Beds: 18 (All private rooms due to infectious diseases)
• Nurse Ratios: 1:5-6 (1:4 if COVID), typically staffed with 3-4 RNs per shift

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in accordance with established protocols.
• Adhere to infection control and isolation precautions.
• Manage and administer medications including titratable IV drips like Heparin.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Serve as a primary caregiver while supporting healthcare staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Active BLS certification is required.
• Strong knowledge in MedSurg nursing and infectious disease management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with isolation protocols and care for patients in isolation.

Schedule and Benefits

This position requires commitment to:

• 12-hour night shifts: 1900-0730 with a half-hour lunch break.
• Every-other-weekend participation.
• Availability to cover holidays as needed based on unit requirements.

Additional Information

Travelers are expected to float to other MedSurg units as necessary and should be prepared to adapt to various patient care environments. Orientation includes one day of EPIC training and a second day on the floor with a preceptor before starting independently.

Scrub color required is royal blue; jacket requirement includes a royal blue scrub jacket if needed.
