Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of ER experience and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Mid 3x12-Hour (15:00 - 03:00)
• Patient Ratios: 1 RN to 5 patients with mixed/shared acuity levels
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general emergency department care for adult and pediatric patients.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
• Administer blood products and manage central lines.
• Perform phlebotomy, IV starts, and continuous IV sedation and paralytics administration.
• Utilize emergency medications and IV vasopressors as needed.
• Conduct procedural sedation administration and manage cerebrovascular accidents (CVA).
• Observe isolation precautions and participate in interdisciplinary support teams.

Required Qualifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum of 1 year in an emergency department setting.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS.
• Charting Experience: Proficiency in Epic is highly preferred.
• Floating Requirement: Must be willing to float when census warrants.
• Location: Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted.

Unit Details

• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatrics.
• Daily Visits: Approximately 145.
• Number of Rooms: 34.
• Number of Beds: 71.

Orientation and Training

Orientation will consist of 16 hours, with additional training as required for new staff.

Additional Information

This position may require occasional floating and coverage for emergencies and high census. Minimal requested time off (RTO) is allowed, and prior charge experience in an ER is a plus.
