Job Description
Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist
Shift Information
Schedule: Day 5x8-Hour (07:30 - 16:00)
Contract Length: 13-20 weeks
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team in a dynamic environment. This position involves assisting providers in performing diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in scrubbing and circulating during IR/Cath Lab and cardiology procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum Experience: 2 years in Interventional Radiology (IR)
- Traveler Experience: Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
- Core Skills: Scrub, Circulate, Telemetry
- Certifications Required: ACLS, BCLS, ARRT or RCIS
- Preferred Skills: EKG lead placement
- Preferred Certifications: ARRT Advanced Cert, RCES, RCIS with Med Experience
Job Responsibilities
- Assist providers while performing diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures.
- Scrub and circulate during IR/Cath Lab procedures and cardiology procedures.
- Administer medication solely under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Be available for call coverage, including STEMI and urgent/emergent procedures.
- Collaborate within a team consisting of at least one RN during procedures.
Call and Weekend Requirements
- Weekday Call: 16:00-07:30 the next morning
- Weekend Call: Friday 16:00 until Monday at 07:30
- Every third weekend call is mandatory.
Unit Details
This is a combination lab focusing on IR and Cardiology with an 80%-10% split. The candidate will be working primarily within interventional radiology procedures. Special equipment includes:
- GE MAC Lab
- Philips iFR/IVUS
- Canon and GE Labs
- Angio Jet, Pneumbra, EKOS, Inari
- CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi System for Implantable Plasma Blade Cutter
- Radiofrequency Ablation Unit
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella
Orientation
Unit orientation will last between 40-80 hours. Please note that there is no RTO allowed during the first week of the traveler's assignment.
Patient Care Details
The patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics, with diagnoses primarily related to vice implants such as PPM and ICD.
Submission Requirements
Interested candidates should be prepared for immediate entrance into the lab upon signing, with testing to be completed within 48 hours. All submissions must include two manager/supervisor references from within the last 12 months.
