Medical Technologist
Position Summary
Under the direction of the laboratory manager, the Medical Technologist is responsible for performing laboratory tests, quality control procedures, and communication with physicians, nurses, and patients.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field required.
- Must be board eligible by NCA or ASCP and complete board certification within one year of employment.
- One to three years of related or progressively more responsible experience in chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and microbiology or formal student internship.
- Certification at MT by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) within one year of employment.
- Clinical laboratory instrumentation knowledge as a laboratory generalist.
- Must be capable of working independently and providing direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants.
Important Information
- Private housing is not provided; all housing consists of shared units.
- No pets allowed.
- Airfare is paid initially by the candidate and/or the agency and will be reimbursed upon the candidate's arrival.
- Flight itinerary information must be submitted at least one week in advance for scheduling purposes.
- New Employee Orientation occurs every Tuesday and Wednesday only.
- Candidates are required to show proof of completed COVID vaccinations.
Immunization Requirements
Immunizations must be provided by the candidate, including:
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Measles
- Mumps
- Rubella
- T-Dap
- Polio
Or, titers and/or historical shot records as applicable. Candidates unable to provide these immunizations will not be accepted for the position.

- Proof of identification (Photo ID and SSN card)
- Professional license and/or certification
- Education or transcripts (if required)

- Drug screen results (10 panel within the last 90 days)
- Competency checklist and various reports (OIG, SAM, National Sex Offender registry, etc.)
- Emergency contact information
- 3 References
