CT Technologist
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled CT Technologist to join our team. This position requires a commitment to patient care and safety while providing exceptional diagnostic imaging services. The role includes working on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with responsibilities that include holidays, on-call, and callback as needed by the unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Confirm patient identity and verify exams prior to scans, ensuring adherence to department policies for safety.
- Coordinate with physicians to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services.
- Prepare patients for scans, providing clear explanations to enhance comfort and understanding.
- Insert IVs as necessary for certain tests, ensuring patient welfare at all times.
- Position patients correctly for scans, using safe handling techniques, especially for those with limited mobility.
- Maintain accurate patient records within EPIC, documenting all necessary components of the exam.
- Ensure proper transmission of images to the PACS system following exam completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe scanning environment at all times.
Requirements
- Completion of formal training from an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Current certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- New York State licensure (must be obtained prior to starting position).
- Minimum of two (2) years of Level 1 Trauma Center experience.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- Injection certification (must be willing to complete during orientation).
- Experience with Philips and Siemens imaging equipment.
