CT Technologist Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled CT Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with on-call and callback responsibilities as needed by the unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and verify exams prior to initiating scans, ensuring adherence to departmental policies and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with physicians to provide accurate diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans, explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety and enhance comfort.
• Insert IVs when necessary and position patients appropriately, employing safe patient handling techniques.
• Maintain accurate patient records by properly documenting all essential information within EPIC and ensuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon completion of exams.
• Uphold a clean and safe scanning environment.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State licensure (must be obtained prior to starting the position).
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (only).

Preferred Qualifications

• Injection certification (must be willing to complete during orientation).
• Familiarity with Philips and Siemens equipment is preferred.

• Ability to work as a team player to maintain a cohesive working environment.

Guaranteed Hours:

This position is structured for a contract lasting 117 weeks.
