Job Description

**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Care** **Shift:** Day (5x8-Hour) | 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM **Weekend Requirement:** Yes, to meet department needs **Job Overview:** We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in an acute care setting. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to deliver high-quality patient care to adults and geriatrics. The ideal candidate will have experience in charge nursing and a well-rounded background in various hospital settings, including community hospitals and long-term acute care (LTAC). **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide patient-centered care with a focus on acute hospital environments. - Participate in the development and implementation of patient treatment plans. - Organize and facilitate family meetings to discuss patient care. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, and social services. - Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines. - Utilize computerized documentation systems (Epic) for accurate patient charting and data management. - Conduct discharge planning and coordinate care transitions for patients. **Qualifications:** - **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years in a relevant nursing role; charge experience preferred. - **Certifications:** Current and valid nursing license; BLS certification required. - **Travel Experience:** Required for the role. - **Skillset:** - Acute hospital nursing - Understanding of patient admission criteria and benefits eligibility - Proficient in ICD-10 and CPT coding - Knowledge of disease management and discharge planning processes - Competency in arrangements for durable medical equipment (DME) and skilled nursing facilities (SNF) **Patient Care Details:** - Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics - Daily Census: Varied based on unit needs - Ability to work with a diverse patient population and different diagnoses. **Additional Information:** - Candidates must commit to working three out of five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day). - A minimum of two supervisory references covering one year of employment (within the last three years) in a comparable specialty or setting is required. **Expectations:** - All nurses are expected to float between facilities as needed.
