**Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)** **Shift: 13:00 - 01:00** **Location: Salem, VA** **Position Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. Our Emergency Department boasts 27 beds and is staffed by highly skilled professionals, including 50 RNs and 25 medics. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing critical care in a fast-paced environment and will be proficient in handling high-acuity situations. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting, managing a patient ratio of 4-6:1. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to perform critical procedures such as Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI), Sepsis interventions, and administering tPA for stroke protocols. - Conduct central line placements and provide specialized care for psychiatric patients. - Handle patient transfers and coordinate with other healthcare facilities in compliance with EMTALA regulations. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. **Qualifications:** - Must have completed 2-3 travel assignments and possess 2-3 years of emergency room experience. - Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS. Preferred certifications include TNCC, ENPC, NRP, and NIHF. - Experience in high-acuity emergency departments and familiarity with patient ratios of 5:1 is highly preferred. **Best Personality Fit:** - The ideal candidate will be relaxed, easy-going, friendly, and team-oriented, demonstrating respect for colleagues and patients alike. **Work Schedule:** - The position requires four weekend shifts (either Friday or Saturday nights; Saturday or Sunday days) within a four-week scheduling period.
