**Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift** **Position Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for the night shift, working 3x12 hour shifts. The RN will be responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to nursing care plans. The position includes supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, ensuring all team members are providing the highest standard of care to our patients. **Key Responsibilities:** - Embrace core values of quality care and patient-centric service. - Prioritize patient and employee safety within all aspects of care as part of our organizational commitment. - Perform thorough nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, using findings to develop individualized care plans. - Identify teaching needs and goals for patients, collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. - Provide timely updates on patient information for team conferences and re-evaluations. - Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in compliance with policies and procedures. - Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs, ensuring effective implementation of nursing processes. - Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission. - Communicate critical patient status changes to relevant care providers to support continuity of care. - Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately. - Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to hospital policies and safety standards. - Contribute positively to the unit's functioning, fostering teamwork and collaboration. - Communicate service needs to management, ensuring the efficient operation of the unit. - Take on charge responsibilities as needed after completing the orientation period. - Invest in professional growth through continuing education and training. - Prioritize tasks and organize staff effectively to meet patient needs. - Perform additional duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** - Valid RN license in the state of practice. - BLS certification required prior to the first shift. - ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific facilities only). - Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on patient care. **Behavior Characteristics:** - Commitment to quality care and industry standards. - Team-oriented with a focus on collaboration. - Ability to manage stress and prioritize tasks effectively.
