**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift** **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift position. The RN will play a critical role in maintaining the delivery of quality patient care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. You will supervise and support a team that includes Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, as well as assist new staff members in their on-boarding process. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission, collecting data to inform an individualized plan of care. - Identify patient teaching needs and goals based on nursing assessments and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. - Provide timely patient information and status updates during team conferences, ensuring effective communication and continuity of care. - Utilize the nursing process—assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care—with a focus on education for patients and their families. - Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission, anticipating patient needs prior to discharge. - Communicate any changes in patient status to relevant care providers to enhance continuity and safety. - Offer direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing effective problem-solving and prioritization skills. - Ensure personal and environmental safety according to established hospital policies and procedures. - Contribute positively to the unit's functioning, providing reassurance and support to staff, patients, and families. - Maintain clear communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and equipment. - Participate in professional growth and development through continuing education and self-study. - Assume charge responsibilities as required, after completing the orientation period. - Execute additional duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** - Active BLS Certification required prior to the first shift. - ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (specific sites). - Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience preferred. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
