**Job Title: Registered Nurse (Med Surg/PCU)** **Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care through the nursing process, which encompasses assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for directing and guiding patient care while adhering to nursing standards and hospital policies. Your exceptional service will directly contribute to enhancing the patient and family experience. **Primary Responsibilities:** - **Patient Assessment:** Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical, psychological, and social needs upon admission and prepare written assessments within designated time frames. - **Care Planning:** Identify patient needs and develop written care plans based on your assessments, initiating the plan within 24 hours of admission and updating it every 24 hours as necessary. - **Emotional Support:** Provide compassionate emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families. - **Patient Education:** Promote patient independence by educating them, their families, and friends about their conditions, medications, self-care skills, and answering any questions. - **Quality Assurance:** Ensure the quality of care by following therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, and making necessary adjustments to care as required. Comply with standards set by regulatory agencies and nursing boards. - **Multidisciplinary Collaboration:** Work with healthcare teams to resolve patient issues and enhance the continuity of care. Communicate effectively to maintain collaborative relationships among team members. - **Leadership:** Utilize leadership skills to delegate tasks, communicate needs, and evaluate team members’ performances. - **Ongoing Education:** Provide continuous education to patients and families based on daily assessments and collaborate with case management for discharge planning. - **Ensure Safety:** Adhere to patient safety standards and protocols, promote a safe environment, and effectively use healthcare technology and equipment. - **Professional Development:** Participate in in-service education and unit or hospital-wide committees to identify needs and aid in performance improvement. Attend a minimum of eight staff meetings annually. - **Documentation:** Document patient care actions, responses, and updates regularly to maintain an accurate medical record. **Requirements:** - Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience. - Experience floating to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is required. - Proficient in telemetry and must be able to read and interpret heart rhythms. - Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association). - COVID-19 vaccination is required (exemptions allowed). - Must pass a dysrhythmia test prior to working on the floor. - Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills to care for patients of all ages. **At ARMStaffing, we take care of our nurses!
