**Job Title: Radiologic Technologist** **Shift:** 3 PM - 11 PM, every other weekend **Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated Radiologic Technologist to perform radiologic procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. This position requires independent work in various settings, including the Emergency Room (ER), Operating Room (OR), and portable units. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in patient care, radiographic techniques, and safety practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the process. - Review clinical data and conduct appropriate examinations, obtaining necessary medical histories. - Prepare the procedure room, ensuring all supplies such as linen are regularly replenished. - Analyze patient anatomy and set up imaging equipment to perform procedures accurately. - Select and administer intravenous contrast media (if applicable) and monitor patients for reactions. - Apply radiation protection principles, ensuring patient safety and adhering to ALARA techniques. - Set up sterile equipment and supplies, following infection control practices. - Maintain high standards of patient care, respecting confidentiality, privacy, and legal rights. - Complete necessary documentation in patient records and the Radiology Information System (RIS). - Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). - Assume a teaching/mentoring role for new hires and students when needed. - Collaborate with the Radiology team and uphold standards for communication, customer service, and teamwork. **Physical Demands/Working Conditions:** - Work in hospital settings with fixed and mobile units, with potential exposure to radiation and contagious patients. - Lift or move equipment and patients occasionally, exceeding 10 lbs. **Qualifications:** - Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. - Certifications: Must be registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or registry eligible (registry must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
