**Job Title: Travel RN - PCU - Cardiac Surgery** **Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM** **Location: Englewood, CO** **Unit Information:** - **Unit Name:** PCU (639) - **Number of Beds:** 20 - **Number of Staff:** 40 - **Staffing Composition:** RNs and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) - **Patient Ratios:** 1:4 - **Type of Equipment:** Telemetry monitors, transport monitors, suction devices, feeding pumps, tracheostomy care, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow devices, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires, IV pumps, SCD pumps - **Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System:** Meditech **Position Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Travel RN for a challenging role in our Cardiac Surgery Progressive Care Unit (PCU). As a critical member of our healthcare team, you will deliver excellent nursing care to high-acuity cardiac patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment at a cardiac center of excellence. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide expert nursing care to cardiac patients in a progressive care unit setting. - Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications (including heparin, Tikosyn, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, Lasix, ketamine), and manage various cardiac drips. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes. - Perform essential procedures including chest tube placements, removal of chest tubes, removal of pacer wires, and conducting 12-lead EKGs. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient's electronic medical record. - Foster a supportive team environment and contribute to a high-energy atmosphere. **Qualifications:** - Current RN licensure. - CPR and ACLS certification required. - Experience in a PCU or cardiac unit is a must; candidates without this experience will not be considered. - Strong ability to manage complex patient care and a high-energy team player. - Familiarity with monitoring and managing infusions, as well as operating relevant medical equipment. **Why Choose This Position?** - Join a well-established cardiac care team where medical excellence and patient care are prioritized. - Benefit from a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and development. - Work with state-of-the-art equipment and engage in innovative patient care practices. **At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
