**Job Title: Surgical Technologist** **Shift:** Day Rotational (40 hours/week, 5x8 hour shifts) **Job Summary:** We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. Under general direction, this role will focus on maintaining sterile techniques, ensuring patient safety, and assisting surgeons during procedures. The ideal candidate will actively participate in delivering high-quality patient care while adhering to all infection control policies and procedures. **Key Responsibilities:** - Demonstrate expertise in surgical scrub technique and adhere to the principles of sterile technique preoperatively and intra-operatively. - Assist the surgeon with gowning, gloving, draping, and passing instruments as needed, while anticipating their requirements for instruments, sutures, and equipment. - Maintain an organized operative field by keeping instruments clean and properly placed at all times. - Accurately keep track of sponges, tapes, needles, dissectors, and instruments. - Prepare for cases by assembling supplies and equipment according to preference cards, identifying and resolving any conflicts or problems in advance. - Care for instruments and supplies post-operation to ensure proper maintenance and readiness for upcoming cases. - Provide a safe surgical environment by identifying potential hazards and assisting the surgical team in preoperative checks of equipment. - Display knowledge of potential hazards, including equipment, chemicals, and gasses within the operating room. - Utilize experienced OR staff as resources and provide guidance to new personnel. - Assist in suturing, retracting, and suctioning under the guidance of the surgeon. - Handle and identify specimens following established policies. - Expedite the effective and efficient turnover of the operating room between cases. - Participate in on-call duty when required. - Perform additional responsibilities as requested. **Skills and Experience:** **Required Skills & Experience:** - N/A **Preferred Skills & Experience:** - Previous operating room experience. - Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist. **Education:** **Required Education:** - High school diploma or equivalent. **Preferred Education:** - N/A **Required Certifications & Licensure:** - Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA or National Health Career Association). - BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross). **Preferred Certifications & Licensure:** - N/A **Job Category:** Clinical-Allied **Guaranteed Hours:** 40.00 **Contract Weeks:** 88 --- At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
