**Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) - NICU/PICU** **Shift:** 12 Hours, Night Shift (7 PM - 7 AM) **Contract Length:** 88 Weeks **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This position requires a strong background in critical care, focusing exclusively on NICU and PICU patients (Pediatric experience is not applicable). **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide respiratory care for patients in the NICU and PICU settings. - Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement patient care plans. - Monitor patient conditions and respond to emergencies in critical care situations. - Maintain proficiency in advanced respiratory care techniques and equipment. - Work in a fast-paced environment while managing patient assignments based on workload and RVU metrics. **Qualifications:** - Current Virginia (VA) State License as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). - Minimum of 2 years of experience in both NICU and PICU settings (Pediatric experience not required). - Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). - Knowledge and experience with Epic or similar electronic medical records systems. **Orientation and Training:** - One week of departmental orientation followed by a period of shadowing and training in general care. - During the third week, the therapist will be responsible for managing their own patient assignments. **Additional Information:** - **Uniform:** Charcoal Gray or Pewter scrubs are required. - **Weekend Expectations:** 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. - **Floating Expectations:** General care provision outside assigned ICU as needed. - **Holiday Expectations:** 1 major and 1 minor holiday commitment.
