**Job Description: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)** **Position Summary:** We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a dynamic acute care hospital setting. This is a night shift position with a 4x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:00). The ideal candidate will have experience in labor and delivery, and be comfortable managing a diverse patient population including neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide compassionate, high-quality care to laboring patients and newborns in a fast-paced environment. - Perform vaginal exams, assess patient progress in labor, and monitor fetal heart rates. - Care for patients experiencing various labor and delivery situations, managing up to 2 patients at a time. - Assist with neonatal care and ensure the well-being of newborns. - Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes. - Adhere to hospital protocols and maintain compliance with safety standards. **Qualifications:** - Current and valid RN license in the state of practice (required at time of submission). - Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery. - Certifications required: BLS, AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced (must include all components), Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM). - Experience managing 2 patients in a labor and delivery setting is crucial. - Familiarity with Cerner charting system is preferred. **Shift Details:** - Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:00). - Weekend requirements: 2 weekends every 6 weeks (including Friday night shifts). - No on-call duties required. **Facility Highlights:** - Acute care hospital recognized as a Magnet and teaching facility. - Level II Trauma Center with a total of 412 staffed beds. - Operates as the 4th largest delivery facility in California with 400-450 births per month. **Patient Care Details:** - Focus on labor and delivery procedures, with support services available from Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Social Services. - Ability to perform sterile vaginal exams and utilize fetal monitoring equipment (EFM and IUPC).
